Facilities

The fenced multi-use games area (or “MUGA” for short) can be used for tennis, kwik cricket and basketball. (The netball facilities are awaiting renewal, as of August 2019.) It has a special surface which makes it great for playing games on, or for kicking a football around – but riding bikes, scooters or mopeds on it damages the surface and you end up with bad bounces, so please don’t do that! Even pram wheels could damage it. So, look after the Muga and we’ll all enjoy using it for years to come.

Outside the Muga, in the playing area, the young people of Collyweston decided what equipment to have here and helped to raise the money for it. The permanent equipment includes:

  • climbing wall
  • pendulum swing
  • clamber net
  • swings
  • slide
  • zip-wire
  • free-standing basketball loop

There are also goal posts for seven-a-side football at the top of the field.

Sports equipment is stored securely on and off site. Contact Shelagh (444607) to arrange to borrow any of the following:

  • tennis net, racquets and balls
  • kwik cricket bats and balls – but no pads, sorry
  • basketballs and baskets
  • footballs

There’s no charge to borrow any of these, but you do need to arrange it in advance and there is a returnable deposit just in case anything isn’t returned.
