Our parish council has 7 seats. Currently it only has 6 of those seats filled. Do you care about your village? Could you attend 75% of the monthly meetings each year? If the answer is YES, then why not offer to be co-opted and represent your village? If we can fill all SEVEN seats then we’ll have a better, stronger and more democratic parish council.
Do you qualify to be a councillor? You must be a UK, Commonwealth or Irish citizen or a citizen of another EU member state, over 18 and not disqualified by statute, and are one of these:
- an elector of the parish OR
- during the whole of the last 12 months have occupied, as owner or tenant, land or other premises in the parish OR
- have a principal or only place of work in the parish OR
- live within 4.8km (3 miles) of the parish boundary.
