In aid of Children with Cancer UK
Local girl Karen Fisher, member of staff at the Collyweston Slater, completed an amazing 2K swim at Rutland Water for charity on 16th August – the first event of its kind to be held with over 250 swimmers and held by Inspire2Tri.
Having to pull out of the London Marathon due to injury, Karen decided to do a swim instead in aid of Children with Cancer UK – and raised over £1,000 which is a fantastic achievement.
Karen suffers from a spine condition so when she signed up for the swim at the end of May she could barely swim 4 lengths without being in constant pain. But help and encouragement from friends and colleagues ensured she completed the 2K swim in 1.5 hours – well done Karen!
