An Elf School for Collyweston, anyone?

A Collyweston resident saw this terrific idea in a Scottish local paper: ELF SCHOOL!

“Children 7+ years old will have the chance to qualify as one of Santa’s little helpers. There will be fun, games, as well as Elf lessons, story telling, activities, arts, crafts, singing, dancing and grotto training provided and all elves will receive an official certificate from Santa when they graduate.

“There will be workshops taking place on [this year it was Tues 21 Nov, Tues 28 Nov, Tues 5 Dec, Tues 12 Dec] at [in our case it could be the village hall] 5.30-7.30pm. [They also have a parade through the town this Thursday 7th, stopping at Santa’s grotto in a clothes shop, and some of the elves will actually help Santa in his grotto – we couldn’t do that bit as Santa’s visit to Collyweston is a full month before the Big Day!]

“Parents/guardians can also attend (no more than 2 adults per child) but please note you will be expected to take part in some of the activities too.

“Please book in advance by txt/phone [mobile number]. Spaces will be limited, there is a max of 10 children per workshop. Elf costumes are optional.”
*** Could Collyweston run an Elf School in time for Christmas 2018? ***
It would need some parents of the likely Elf Students to get together and plan
what could be done that the children would enjoy. And Fiona Cowan knows musicians who would be delighted to help with the singing side. Feel free to add comments to this thread or the village Facebook page if you have any thoughts.
I’ll try to find out what activities the Scottish school did, and maybe scan some photos out of the paper – just depends whether I can get a copy of the right issue!
